HOW TO GET ARROUND?

When the visitor arrives in Alt Empordà, he can notice that it isn't difficult to get arroud but if he hasn't his own car there are different possibilities.

The capital of Alt Empordà, Figueres, is the central point where the network communication of the region starts.

• The N-II road, goes through the centre of the town and the route is Barcelona-Girona-Figueres-La Jonquera.

• The N-260 road leeds to the North, up to Portbou, through Peralada and Llançà and on the opposite direction to Olot and Ripoll.

• Regional C-252 road. This road starts in Figueres and goes to the south, up to Sant Pere Pescador, l'Escala and la Bisbal.

• The regional C-260 road starts in Figueres and goes to the villages of Castelló d'Empúries and Roses. From here we can take other local roads in order to visit places such as Cadaqués, Llançà and Port de la Selva. At the same time we can accede to other interesting inland villages.

From the Bus Station of Figueres a lot of different regular lines depart which allow the tourist to visit all the region.

From the train station of Figuere the visitor has the possibility to stop in: Vilajuïga, Llançà and Portbou. In Llançà and Portbou, from the rail station there is a 10 minute walk to reach the quiet nice beaches.

On the opposite direction, the railway goes to Girona and Barcelona, there are trains which stop in little villages such as: Sant Miquel de Fluvià and Camallera.
